Washington Commanders owner plans 2030 stadium on former RFK site; aims to host 2027 NFL draft on National Mall.

Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris believes a new stadium for the team could be ready by 2030 as their current contract expires in 2027. The potential site for the new stadium is the one previously occupied by RFK Stadium in downtown Washington, subject to land transfer approval from the federal government. Harris hopes to host the NFL draft in the region in 2027, ideally on the National Mall between the U.S. Capitol and Lincoln Memorial.
