Uganda's Luzira prison faces a two-week water shutoff due to an unpaid $4.8m water bill.

Uganda's largest prison, Luzira, has been without water for two weeks due to an unpaid $4.8m water bill. The National Water and Sewerage Corporation disconnected the service. The prison has relied on trailer-mounted water tanks and negotiations are underway to resolve the issue. This is not the first time Luzira has faced water disconnection; in 2017, it was also disconnected after failing to pay its bill.
