A $241,500 SmartSat grant funds a two-year project to help Australian woolgrowers cost-effectively report environmental credentials using satellite imagery. The $4.8M project aims to overcome challenges of on-site audits by measuring on-farm metrics like ground cover, tree cover, shade, and greenhouse gas sequestration. La Trobe University, Australian Wool Innovation, Macdoch Foundation, Integrated Futures, and SmartSat CRC collaborate on the project, which may apply across various farming systems.
