Providence firefighters extinguished a house fire, rescuing two cats and sustaining minor injuries.

Providence firefighters extinguished a house fire in the basement of a Lucy St. home on Sunday at 11 am, rescuing and reviving two cats. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Chief Derek M. Silva oversaw the operation.
