New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) supports Te Matuku Oysters Ltd in recalling specific batches of their Premium Export Grade Pacific Oysters due to possible norovirus contamination. Affected oysters with use-by dates of 27.8.24 and 29.8.24 must not be eaten raw, and can be returned for a refund or cooked to kill the virus. NZFS is collaborating with the oyster farm to investigate the cause of the contamination and prevent its recurrence.
