Metro Vancouver's West Coast Express resumed operations after a week-long shutdown due to Canada-wide rail stoppage, following binding arbitration by the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

Metro Vancouver's West Coast Express commuter train service resumed operations on Monday after a week-long shutdown due to a Canada-wide rail stoppage. The service had been halted since Wednesday night due to a lack of rail traffic controllers on the Canadian Pacific Kansas City tracks it uses. TransLink, the region's transit authority, announced that services will return to their normal schedules, despite the possibility of some delays due to a backlog of freight traffic. The Canada Industrial Relations Board imposed binding arbitration in a dispute between rail workers and the country's two major railways, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific, which ordered thousands of rail employees back to work.
