Karnataka state government sold 3,666 acres of land to JSW Steel for ₹90,000 crore investment and 50,000 jobs.

Karnataka state government sold 3,666 acres of land to JSW Steel, following a High Court directive. The decision was made despite previous allegations of irregularities and internal agreements. Minister M.B. Patil argued that JSW Steel's investment of ₹90,000 crore and creation of 50,000 jobs in Karnataka justify the land sale. The land prices for JSW Steel were based on market values from 20 years ago. Patil also highlighted that unlike JSW Steel, the previous BJP government had granted concessions to Chanakya University.
