India's Solvent Extractors Association asks government to reconsider rice bran export ban, citing underutilized plants and adulteration concerns.
The Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA) appeals to the Indian government to reconsider extending the de-oiled rice bran export ban until Jan 31, 2025. The ban is causing severe underutilisation of processing plants, particularly in eastern India, negatively impacting national rice bran oil production. SEA also raises concerns about adulteration in rice bran oil and de-oiled rice bran, urging members to implement stricter quality control measures in procurement of raw materials.
