Ghana's NIA plans to register children aged 6-14 for national identification and Ghana Cards.

Ghana's National Identification Authority (NIA) plans to register children aged 6 to 14 starting September, following the successful registration of 18 million Ghanaians aged 15 and above. The initiative aims to integrate younger Ghanaians into the national identification system and provide them with Ghana Cards as their official identity documents. The NIA has piloted the process in the Eastern and Central regions, and parents and guardians are encouraged to prepare for the registration exercise, which requires basic identification documents and personal details of the children.
