French DJ and LGBTQ+ icon Barbara Butch carried the Paralympic torch as a defiant act after receiving online harassment and threats following her appearance in the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. Butch, along with five other artists, filed formal legal complaints after suffering abuse. The Paralympic torch relay, involving 12 torches, will visit 50 cities across France, promoting inclusion in sports and building awareness of living with disabilities.
