Popular Greek islands reached near-100% occupancy in August due to increased marketing and local attractions.
In August, popular Greek islands including Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Mykonos, and Santorini reached near-100% occupancy rates, while car-accessible destinations faced fewer tourists and lower spending. High occupancy rates over 90% were also seen in Naxos, Ios, Samos, Lipsi, Skopelos, Astypalaia, and Andros. Officials attribute this to increased marketing efforts, local customs, traditions, and environmental protection.
