Nigerian police arrested two suspected gunrunners in Edo State, following a directive from Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Arungwa Nwazue.
The suspects, Godday Ebhodaghe and Ehichoya Omoiwade, were found with 30 locally fabricated guns, an English-made double barrel gun, 13 live cartridges, a toolbox, and a drill machine.
They allegedly supplied the weapons to kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists.
The AIG has ordered a comprehensive investigation, and the suspects will be arraigned in court.
