Israel declares a 48-hour nationwide state of emergency due to rising tensions with Lebanon and Hezbollah's rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant's decision grants the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) authority to issue safety instructions to citizens and implement restrictions on public gatherings and closure of vulnerable sites. The state of emergency follows Hezbollah's claim of firing over 320 rockets and explosive-laden drones at northern Israel, in response to the pre-emptive strikes by the Israeli military in Lebanon.
