Homebuyers' association FPCE writes to India's Ministry of Housing, urging suspension of MahaRERA's conciliation forum, alleging developer favoritism, and suggesting new guidelines for impartiality.

Homebuyers' association FPCE has written to India's Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to address concerns over Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA)'s conciliation forum, which is allegedly favoring developers. The association has requested the suspension of all conciliation forum activities until new guidelines are in place, and has recommended that RERA officials be given a cooling-off period of five years after leaving their positions before joining real estate firms or associations. FPCE is calling for the issuance of guidelines to ensure the independence and impartiality of all conciliation forums across all states.
