75-year-old Oregon nurse Phyllis Dodds pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal mistreatment and elder abuse for neglecting three senior residents at Pacifica Senior Living. Dodds, who failed to provide nursing care including RN assessments, will surrender her license, serve three years of supervised probation, complete 150 hours of community service, and cannot work as a paid caregiver. This case marks Oregon's sixth successful criminal prosecution against healthcare providers for elderly abuse this year.
