StubHub fined $295,000, pays $20M in refunds to 45,000 Californians for denying refunds during pandemic.
StubHub has agreed to a $295,000 penalty and pay $20 million in cash refunds to more than 45,000 Californians who were denied refunds for canceled events during the pandemic. The ticket reseller switched from a full refund policy to offering 120% credit for future purchases, allegedly denying $20 million in refunds. StubHub has now resumed its full cash refund policy and settled with Washington D.C. and 10 states last year over similar issues for $9.5 million.
