The San Francisco Giants signed catcher Andrew Knapp to a major league contract, assigning Jakson Reetz and placing Patrick Bailey on the injured list. Knapp, who previously played with the Giants, will serve as backup to Curt Casali until Bailey's return, expected around August 29. The team also signed utility player Cavan Biggio to a minor-league deal.
