Kongsberg Maritime, Telenor Maritime, and ASKO are partnering for a trial of Eutelsat OneWeb's LEO satellite internet service on an electric, autonomous barge. The trial aims to demonstrate real-time data transfer, ship-to-shore communication, and remote and autonomous vessel control using the Kymeta Peregrine u8 flat panel antenna system. This project explores the potential of LEO satellite connectivity for autonomous shipping solutions and could pave the way for the development of autonomous shipping technologies.
