New York Judge refuses to include "abortion" and "LGBT" in antidiscrimination amendment description.

Weinstein refused to order state election officials to include "abortion" and "LGBT" in the description of a proposed antidiscrimination amendment to the state's constitution, potentially leaving voters unaware of the amendment's connection to abortion rights. The Equal Rights Amendment would expand New York's antidiscrimination protections to include ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and “sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive health care and autonomy.”
