Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Secretary, Jimmy LeBlanc, has resigned after a 16-year tenure, citing health reasons. LeBlanc, who has served under multiple governors, will return to his post as warden of the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel before taking a leave of absence. Governor Jeff Landry praised LeBlanc for his long service and announced that appointing a new secretary will be a top priority.
