46-year-old homeless man Paul Dono, who had struggled with alcohol and drug addictions since he was 12, died in a Travelodge hotel room in Stoke-on-Trent just a day after being offered a permanent home. Dono, who had a history of going missing and numerous health issues, was found by support worker Chloe Henshaw. An inquest found that his cause of death was a sudden unexpected death involving alcohol misuse. Despite his struggles, Dono was described as "lovely" and "fabulous" by those who knew him.
