Telangana's Civil Supplies & Irrigation Minister, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, announced the state government's plan to begin distributing fine grain rice to all ration card holders through fair price shops starting January. This initiative aligns with the Congress party's election manifesto. Minister Reddy emphasized the importance of providing high-quality rice and warned ration dealers against diverting rice meant for the public distribution system. He also instructed officials to supply wheat at subsidized prices where necessary and asked officials to consider increasing the number of Antyodaya cards in the state, as well as filling 1,629 vacancies in Fair Price Shops promptly.
