Paralympic gold medalist Richard Whitehead called for improvement in NHS prosthetics to support future Paralympic athletes, stating current prosthetics are "not fit for purpose." He believes upgraded NHS prosthetics would help develop the next generation of Paralympic gold winners. However, NHS England argues that many physical activities can be accomplished without sports-specific prosthetics.
