Nova Scotia's $1.3 million investment in home-sharing platform Happipad, aimed at providing affordable housing, has led to only 23 leases in a year. The Canadian non-profit app, launched in August 2023, lists 60 rooms and waives fees for users. Despite the low uptake, Nova Scotia's $1.7-billion housing plan targets creating conditions for 41,000 new homes in the province.
