Nigeria's Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, reveals obstruction to even distribution of palliative rice aid in Kano State due to certain individuals.

Nigeria's Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, has disclosed that despite the federal government's approval of palliative measures to address hunger, some individuals hinder the even distribution of these support measures to the poor and vulnerable. Jibrin chairs a committee established to distribute palliative rice to 23,644 people in Kano State, with each recipient receiving 25 kg. The committee comprises politicians and officials from Kano State and other organizations, and plans to distribute the rice equitably across all 44 local government areas. To qualify for the palliative, residents must present a national identity card, driver's license, voter's card, or international passport.
