Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, a former intelligence chief, has banned cell phones and other mobile devices from Cabinet meetings due to espionage concerns. The move comes after warnings from the General Intelligence and Security Service about growing espionage targeting the Netherlands and its high-tech sector, including from China. Schoof, who took office in July, stated that all electronic devices can serve as "little microphones" and that countries are interested in decision-making processes in the Netherlands.
