China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) announced an intensified crackdown on false claims for export tax refunds, collaborating with the Ministry of Public Security and other authorities. Cases include false export tax rebates, fraudulent VAT invoices, and fabricated government documents. The SPP has established a regular mechanism to address these offenses, as China recorded 1.8 trillion yuan (~$252B) in export tax refunds in 2023.
