51-year-old John Madej from South Boston was arrested after chasing people with a machete in downtown Boston on August 20. Police found a hunting knife in his pocket and also discovered he had an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. Madej is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a dangerous weapon, and is scheduled for arraignment at Boston Municipal Court.
