24-year-old Gaylord man died in a head-on collision on Alba Highway, Antrim County's Star Township on August 21 after his eastbound SUV veered into a westbound commercial box truck. The truck driver, a 54-year-old from Atlanta, tried to avoid but was unable to. The truck driver refused medical treatment but was sent to the hospital for evaluation and drug/alcohol testing. The cause of the crash is still under investigation with assistance from local law enforcement and emergency services.
