20-year-old Elly De La Cruz becomes 5th MLB player to hit 20 HRs, steal 60 bases in a season.
20-year-old Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds made history by hitting 20 home runs and stealing 60 bases in a single season, becoming the fifth MLB player to do so. He joined the elite group including Ronald Acuña Jr., Eric Davis, Rickey Henderson, and Joe Morgan. This feat was last achieved in 1976 by Joe Morgan and is attributed to recent rule changes that increased base sizes and limited pitchers' pick-off attempts.
