40-year-old Ashley Warren appeared in court over the death of Essex woman Esther Martin, who was found with fatal dog bite wounds after being mauled by two XL bully dogs. Warren, who did not enter a plea, faces charges including owning or being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death. This case is the first to be charged under new laws on owning XL bullies, which came into force earlier this year.
