USDA forecasts Philippine meat imports to increase due to population growth and economic expansion.

The USDA forecasts Philippine meat imports to increase in 2025, with pork imports projected at 510,000 metric tons (MT) and beef imports at 226,000 MT, due to population growth and economic expansion. Domestic pork and beef production is expected to remain below pre-ASF levels through 2025. The growth in imports is attributed to lower export prices, expanded market access, and strong economic growth.
