A top US federal prosecutor, Joseph Ruddy, violated ethics rules by providing his Justice Department business card to Florida police during a drunken hit-and-run investigation, according to the Justice Department's Office of Inspector General. The report revealed that the assistant U.S. attorney in Tampa also drove drunk and left the scene of a crash. Despite the allegations, Ruddy remains an assistant U.S. attorney. The case has been referred to the department's Professional Misconduct Review Unit for appropriate action.
