Ukrainian forces captured Russian territory for the first time since WWII, reducing shelling and casualties in Sumy region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently visited the border area where his forces launched a surprise offensive into Russia in early August, confirming that Ukrainian military had taken control of another Russian village and captured more prisoners of war. The operation, which has reduced Russian shelling and civilian casualties in the Sumy region, marks the first capture of Russian territory since WWII. Both sides in the war have been using drones to attack deep behind enemy lines.
