20 suspended school bus routes in Central Oahu, HI, were restored on August 26, benefiting 604 students across seven schools. This follows the restoration of 34 routes the previous week. Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE) partnered with contractor Ground Transport Inc. (GTI) to secure additional drivers and buses through subcontracting with Polynesian Adventure Tours. Some routes will be serviced by motor coaches instead of traditional yellow school buses. HIDOE aims to restore the remaining 93 suspended routes.
