Study finds Mediterranean diet linked to reduced COVID-19 risk, according to PLOS One.

A study in PLOS One suggests that adhering to a Mediterranean diet may reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. The diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats, is believed to have anti-inflammatory effects that may protect against chronic inflammatory diseases. The research analyzed six observational studies involving over 55,000 participants across five countries and found a correlation between a Mediterranean diet and reduced COVID-19 risk. However, further studies are needed to better understand the relationship between the Mediterranean diet and COVID-19.
