Singapore plans to introduce nutritional grades (A to D) for pre-packed salt, sauces, seasonings, instant noodles, and cooking oil, building on the success of similar labelling on sugary drinks. The move aims to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and obesity linked to excessive consumption of salt, saturated fat, and sugar. The Nutri-Grade labels, focusing on sodium and saturated fat levels, will help consumers identify healthier alternatives and complement existing Healthier Choice symbols.
