2023-24 Nottinghamshire data shows 82% of 2-2.5-year-olds met expected development levels, down from 85% five years ago.

Childhood development in Nottinghamshire has worsened since pre-pandemic times, according to a Family Action report. The organization attributes this decline to financial difficulties and reduced socialization during the pandemic. Data from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities showed that 82% of 2-2.5-year-olds in Nottinghamshire met or exceeded expected development levels in the final quarter of 2023-24, on par with the previous year but below 85% five years ago. Across England, 81% of children met or exceeded expected development levels, marginally increasing from 80% the previous year but still below the 2018-19 pre-pandemic level of 83%.
