2nd largest lithium producer SQM plans to expand production in Chile despite falling battery metal prices.

2nd largest lithium producer SQM sees record-high lithium shipments and plans to expand production in Chile despite falling battery metal prices. SQM is set to produce about 210,000 metric tons of lithium this year, up from 190,000 tons last year. The company's CEO, Ricardo Ramos, notes that some projects may reduce output as many are not economically viable at current prices.
