An electricity pylon fire in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire spread to hedges and trees, causing a large plume of smoke, but was brought under control by fire crews, with no reported injuries or power outages. Cambridgeshire Police, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, and UK Power Networks attended the scene to manage the fire and investigate an overhead line fault. Residents nearby had to close their windows due to the acrid smell from the fire.
