At the DNC, Polis and Blunt Rochester falsely attributed illegitimacy claims and President Trump authorship to Project 2025's "Mandate for Leadership."

During the Democratic National Convention's (DNC) third night, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester inaccurately claimed that the conservative think tank initiative, Project 2025, stated that a married mother and father is the only legitimate family type and that only the father should work. In reality, the Project 2025 policy document emphasized the importance of a "nuclear" family but did not label other family structures as illegitimate. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester also falsely claimed that former President Donald Trump wrote the Project 2025 policy document, known as "Mandate for Leadership." There is no evidence to suggest that Trump was involved in writing the document or that it was his own work.
