Barbados Police Service adopts new Road Traffic Accident Investigation Policy, prioritizing fatalities and severe accidents.

Starting 15 September, Barbados Police Service will prioritize responding to fatalities and severe accidents, redirecting resources to address more critical incidents. This new Road Traffic Accident Investigation Policy directs police to attend incidents involving mass casualties, suspected criminal activity, breaches of peace, and severe traffic disruptions. The policy is supported by the insurance industry, which pays out $85-$90m in annual claims, as 90% of accidents do not require police reports.
