36-year-old Shane Frane, convicted of manslaughter in a 2013 road accident that killed PSNI officer Philippa Reynolds, was extradited from Ireland and appeared in court on additional charges.

36-year-old Limerick man, Shane Frane, convicted of manslaughter after a 2013 road traffic accident that killed PSNI officer Philippa Reynolds, was extradited to Northern Ireland and appeared in court. Frane, who absconded from the Northern Ireland Prison Service in January, was arrested in the Republic of Ireland and is set to face a hearing at Lisburn Magistrates' Court. Constable Reynolds was a passenger in the police vehicle hit by Frane's stolen car, travelling at up to 80mph at the time. In addition to manslaughter, Frane pleaded guilty to eight other charges related to the incident.
