Nicholas John Roske, the California man charged with attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home in Maryland in June 2022, will stand trial on June 9, 2025. Roske, 26 at the time of his arrest, pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder a justice of the United States, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. Roske allegedly expressed anger about a leaked draft opinion suggesting the Supreme Court would overrule Roe v. Wade and was upset over the Uvalde, Texas school massacre. The trial is expected to last around a week.
