2023-24 Virginia SOL test scores show small improvements in reading and math, partially attributable to the 'ALL In' initiative, despite remaining below pre-pandemic levels.
Virginia students show small improvements in reading and math SOL test scores for the 2023-24 academic year, according to data released by the Department of Education. Scores increased slightly but remain below pre-pandemic levels. Of 195k chronically absent students, 40,974 attended school more regularly in the last year. Governor Glenn Youngkin credits the 'ALL In' initiative for the progress, a three-year plan to improve attendance, literacy, and high-impact tutoring.
