VHI increases health insurance plans by 3.5% from October 1st, citing higher claim costs and volumes.

Ireland's largest health insurer, VHI, announced a 3.5% price increase on its health insurance plans starting October 1st. The rise is due to a sustained increase in both the volume and costs of healthcare claims. In response, VHI will reduce children's premiums on selected plans by 25% and add day-to-day benefits to other plans. This follows Laya Healthcare's recent decision to increase premiums for its members by 6.5%.
