Sydney vintage store accused of threatening employee over not working weekends during jury duty.
A vintage clothing store in Sydney is accused of threatening an employee who did not work on weekends during an eight-week murder trial, in which she was a juror. The employee, who can't be legally identified, allegedly received an email from the store's boss stating she breached company policy. She resigned after receiving the email and a letter about an upcoming disciplinary hearing. The company's barrister claims no threats were made, and under employment law, there's no legal requirement for workers to have equivalent time off after attending jury duty. The court will decide the case on August 27.
