India receives $500m ADB loan for healthcare & medical education expansion in Maharashtra.

India secured a $500m loan from the Asian Development Bank to boost healthcare and medical education in Maharashtra. The funds will establish four medical colleges, increase bed capacity in government hospitals, hire 500 new doctors, and introduce climate-resilient asset policies. The aim is to improve access to quality and affordable tertiary health care, reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, and foster healthy competition between medical colleges.
