Idaho's Department of Health and Welfare has temporarily halted new enrollments for the Idaho Child Care Program due to a projected $15.5M budget deficit, caused by rising childcare costs and expanded eligibility. Director Alex Adams proposes reducing eligibility income cutoff to 130% of the federal poverty limit. The legislature will examine department actions when they reconvene in January.
