Former Long Beach Unified School District safety officer, Eddie Gonzalez, has pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Manuela "Mona" Rodriguez in Sept 2021. Rodriguez was a passenger in a fleeing vehicle near Millikan High School. Gonzalez faces three or six years in state prison, with sentencing scheduled for Oct 8.
